Paul Gaughin La vie de Gauguin: 1848-1903, en Bretagne et à Tahiti. Gauguin est l'ami de Vincent Van Gogh. Mes impressions? I think Paul Gauguin is a great artist. He used lots of color in his paintings, which were mostly of everyday things, like breakfast. Most of his paintings were of the Tahitians and their everyday life or the Bretons and their everyday life. (Elsa) When I colored the picture of palm trees I felt like I could draw outside the lines. I liked to draw. It was fun. We also watched videos of what he painted. They were cool and I like the paintings. I thought his artwork was pretty cool. And by pretty cool I mean AWESOME! (Sarah L)

Niki de Saint Phalle La vie de Niki de Saint Phalle: 1930-2002 Mes impressions? Pourquoi j'aime Niki de SP?
I think that Niki de Saint Phalle is a really cool painter because she shoots bags of paint and they explode into really colorful shapes and sizes that are big and imperfect. (Nico) Niki de Saint Phalle showed me she liked abstract. She made me realize that she liked drawing paintings that influence people. When I looked at the painting I took a look at some information on her and I realized that she liked to just paint. (Angela) Niki de Saint Phalle was a great painter. I like her because she has really colorful paintings. I think she was a little bit angry when she painted because she filled bags with paint and shot them and they splattered onto her paintings. I think her being angry made good art. She used a lot of vert. Her paintings are very creative, like she has a sculpture where half of the face is beige and the other half is bleu. (Suzanna) Niki de Saint Phalle was tormented when she was a kid. she let her anger out by hanging ballons and shooting them with a rifle to make paintings. She was born in France and died in 2002. (Will) Niki de Saint-Phallle uses lots of color in her paintings and sculptures. She later added a violent turn to her paintings. Niki later made sculptures of women (Mia) Niki de Saint Phalle has a very disturbed mind. She sculpts a lot of bodies and uses lots of color. She is also very creative with household items, which she uses within her art. (Roxie) To me Niki de Saint Phalle was somewhat like Van Gogh. Her most famous paintings where her best even though at the time she was suffering psychologically. Her paintings and statues are very abstract and they put emphasis on the parts of the body and the colors made them unique. (Nalani)

Matisse-Polynésie: The colors I used were vert, and orange. He is such a good artist and he uses good colors. This project was so fun because we watched cool videos. I think that Robert Delaunay is very energetic with his art because he takes a regular sculpture and makes an abstract picture. He also uses very vibrant colors that make his pictures interesting.
